Analytical Equipment: X-ray CT
MGC owns a high-performance X-ray CT system that supports non-destructive internal structure analysis and high-precision three-dimensional measurement. The system irradiates the target with X-rays from multiple directions and, based on the acquired transmission data, reconstructs a high-resolution three-dimensional X-ray image. This makes it possible to visualize internal structures, assembly conditions, and material distributions that cannot be confirmed from the outside. In optical devices in particular, the three-dimensional shapes and positions of lenses can be accurately grasped, enabling detailed evaluations that leverage volumetric information unavailable from cross-sectional observation alone. Because the measurement is non-contact and non-destructive, another major advantage is that analyses can be performed on completed products or devices in their operational state.
Moreover, the acquired 3D data can be used not only for high-precision dimensional measurement, but also for comparison with CAD data and for shape reconstruction, supporting reverse-engineering applications as well.
