MTF is a metric that quantifies how faithfully subject contrast is reproduced as a function of spatial frequency, and is an indispensable method for objectively evaluating the performance of optical systems. To evaluate the performance of actually disassembled camera modules with high reproducibility, we have introduced an MTF measurement system of the same class as those used by camera-module manufacturers. This enables an accurate comparison between the performance assumed at the design stage and the measurement results from actual units, making evaluations more reflective of real-world conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evaluating the performance of actual devices is also extremely important for grasping the trends of lens configurations and material selections in the latest camera modules.
